SiteCrafting in the Wild

Although the SiteCrafting team is a pretty close-knit group, we are spread out over three different offices across the state. We opened our Spokane office in 2009 and our Seattle office earlier this year. We use instant messaging, video chats, and the occasional flight to help keep the team connected. Once a year we all come together for our company retreat. It’s a chance to reconnect, decompress, and collaborate as a complete team. This year we spent a couple days at the Canyon River Ranch in Ellensburg, WA.

In addition to cooking, bonfires, nature hikes, speed Scrabble, pool tournaments and hot tub time, we had a chance to discuss the history of SiteCrafting, as well as look to the future. Employees were encouraged to voice their opinion on new project ideas and service offerings. Everyone had a chance to help shape the future of the company they work so hard for.

I firmly believe that retreats such as this are one of the reasons our company has continued to be successful. We value the contributions of each employee and let them know how much their hard work means to their managers, co-workers, and the company as a whole.

How do you show your employees that you appreciate them?
