There is Nothing Small About Everything

So this is a post I've been working on in my mind for a very long time. I only recently realized that it needed to be written. You see, small business is anything but small. The services and products that businesses like SiteCrafting provide add value to their customers in such a way that small business has become, essentially, everything.

I have been researching statistics on how America relies on small business and how more jobs are created by small business than in any other area of our economy. There are many statistics published that could contribute to a working case for why we need to support companies that have jumped in with both feet in order to build a better life for employees, customers, and families. But, instead of a long-winded entry only a statistician would appreciate, I thought I would throw out some facts and statistics about SiteCrafting that motivate me on a daily basis:

  1. Since January 1, 2008 more than 1 million visitors have visited websites built by SiteCrafting.  Visitors and our clients depend on our sites to be usable and accessible. Thanks to our staff for insuring this to be true.

  2. Businesses depend on us, not just to support them, but to actually make them run. More and more, our systems exist as critically important tools in operations for other businesses. The responsibility is huge and we welcome it. Over 300 sites call SiteCrafting home. This is not to say anything about the hundreds of homeowners hoping their home will be built on time or people relying on getting their ad in next week's magazine, or that their septic system will be successfully inspected. People trust us and we do not take that for granted.

  3. Our employees depend on us to not only be there, but to protect their futures, their families and their investment of time and talent. They trust me to provide a stable future and I won't let them down.

  4. For me personally, however, there is nothing bigger than the possibilities and future that I find in the eyes of my three little children. They rely, more than anyone, on the promises we make and the products we deliver.

You know what though? We are not all that different than the millions of small businesses that have put everything on the line, and there is truly nothing small about that. So next time you have a chance to choose a "small" business, make that choice, because you are choosing anything but small. You are choosing everything.
