Best of the Northwest

You Love the Ads, Now Make Your Own!

Sandals and Socks Guy. Roadside Chainsaw Woodcarver.  The Zag. We spotted them across the region for years without being able to fully appreciate the unique northwest culture they represent.

Lucky for us, PEMCO Insurance took those quirky regional staples, gave each a name and immortalized them with its We're A Lot Like You campaign's humorously spot on Northwest Profiles.

Since these ads burst on the scene, people have started spreading the word about the Northwest Type they have been spotting for years. And now instead of repeatedly telling your under-appreciative friends, you can create your own Northwest Profile to share with people who get you on the new We're A Lot Like You website.

Northwest inhabitants now have a place to come together and watch the commercials, view full Northwest Profiles and even create their own. You can now upload your types' image, vehicle, diet and more to be featured alongside other user created profiles including "All the Latest Gear Hikers" and "Broken Umbrella Commuter."

PEMCO wanted a website that looked and acted like flash, but without the delays and other issues that flash presented to its users. Although an initial challenge, everyone involved worked together to collaborate on creative solutions while refusing to compromise the user friendly vision.

"In the end we had a site that was fast, fun, and (thanks to PEMCO's amazing ad campaign) recognizable to all friends and family that we showed it off to," said Phil Price, a SiteCrafting Developer.

The site also features a twitter feed and calendar where visitors can suggest additional events to be included. To view all your favorite Northwest Profiles, and create your own, visit www.werealotlikeyou.com.

Domain Renewal Warning

Recently, some of our clients mentioned receiving phone calls and even invoices from a company called Domain Registry of America, stating that their domain is in danger of expiring and to contact them with a credit card number to renew.

Don't do it!

None of the domains managed by SiteCrafting are registered through Domain Registry of America. We will always contact you before your domain expires and explain your renewal options. If you ever have questions about your domain, just give us a call and we'll be happy to explain the ins and outs of registering and hosting domain names.
