Brian Goes to Boston

Fenway Park

The Inner City 100

In early May, SiteCrafting President Brian Forth traveled to Boston for the annual ICIC Inner City 100 Awards. Nominated by the City of Tacoma, SiteCrafting found itself among an elite group of companies from across the nation, ultimately ranking number 41 out of 100. SiteCrafting was one of only three businesses from Washington State to be included in the Inner City 100.

As part of the Inner City 100 program, Brian attended a CEO Forum at Harvard Business School which included discussions on finding and retaining talent, marketing initiatives, as well as two different company case studies. The Awards dinner took place at the Boston Convention & Exhibition Center, where in addition to the ranking of the top 100 companies, awards were also presented to the top minority- and women-owned companies.

To qualify for the Inner City 100 list, companies were required to have at least 51 percent of their operations located in an economically distressed urban area; have at least 10 full-time employees; and a five-year operating sales history that includes at least $200,000 in revenues in the first year of consideration, an increase in year five sales over year four sales, and fifth-year sales of at least $1 million.
