LeMay- AMERICA'S CAR MUSEUM
Established as a charitable organization in 1998, the Harold E. LeMay Museum at its peak included a collection of over 3,000 vehicles and thousands of artifacts. In 2003, the museums’s board of directors approved the construction of a new facility to house the collection and serve as the ultimate gathering place for car enthusiasts. LeMay- AMERICA’S CAR MUSEUM is currently located in Spanaway, Washington, but will be opening a new, nine-acre facility near the Tacoma Dome by 2010.Needs
The LeMay Car Museum is getting ready to break ground on a state of the art car museum and needed to upgrade their website with enhanced member area, secure/scalable content management system, online giving, and volunteer modules. Their existing system was no longer able to grow as they needed and the responsiveness of their provider was causing concerns.Solution
SiteCrafting worked with the LeMay Museum to design the interface and application as well as to develop the entire solution. SiteCrafting’s team built a Content Management System and Administration center that serves as a single point of management for the entire website. Beyond just tools for managing vendors, members, donations and content, the site was also able to manage offline kiosks placed at the Tacoma Mall during a Father’s Day membership promotion.Tools

LeMay – America’s Car Museum
KBTC
KBTC is an affiliate of PBS and a service of Bates Technical College, which provides programming to over 200,000 households in the Pacific Northwest. KBTC’s mission is to enrich lives through programs and services that educate, inspire, and entertain. Programs range from children’s cartoons to music concerts. Recently, KBTC received an Emmy for their weekly documentary series, Full Focus, a program designed to help viewers feel connected to their own communities. Over half of KBTC’s funding comes from viewer donations.Needs
KBTC had a content management system which had been developed a few years back by a different web firm. While the system had been good initially, they needed a more comprehensive/scalable long term solution. The new site needed to integrate online giving, video streaming, as well as be ready to grow with KBTC.Solution
SiteCrafting worked with initial website designs offered by KBTC internal staff and developed a comprehensive Content Management System, Video Management Module, Online Donation module, and integration with PBS scheduling and channel lineup.The system developed by SiteCrafting is already paying dividends to KBTC who is looking to expand the system to manage offline donations as well as online donations.
