Volunteering as a Company

SiteCrafting is part of an amazing community in Tacoma, WA with a number of organizations to take part of. Many of our employees volunteer outside of work within the community, and we wanted to incorporate this into our company and volunteer as a group. What started as an idea has now evolved to SiteCrafting Gives Back, a program we created that is dedicated to volunteering 1-2 times a quarter.

United Way of Pierce County Summer Read and Meal Program

SiteCrafting partnered with United Way throughout the summer to help read to kids and deliver meals. The programs mission is to make sure all kids have access to enrichment opportunities, helping them stay on track to succeed in the classroom.

Tacoma/Pierce County Habitat for Humanity

Tacoma/Pierce County Habitat for Humanity partners with families in need to build and own simple, decent, and affordable homes in a safe community. Earlier this year, a group of SiteCrafters had an opportunity to volunteer with the organization to help demolish four houses in Tacoma that were donated by MultiCare. The homes funded an entire Habitat neighborhood.

The Amara House

The Amara House provides healthy and safe transitions for women seeking refuge from abuse and/or addiction as well as women re-entering into society from incarceration. The organization moved to a new location and our team of volunteer movers loaded and unloaded desks, tables, computers and more.

YWCA Pierce County

YWCA Pierce County provides assistance to survivors of domestic violence and their children. Each year, the YWCA creates a winter wonderland shopping area called, The Holiday Gift Center. The week before Christmas, The Holiday Gift Center provides an opportunity for the adults and children at the shelter to “shop” for new items for their family members from the donation given by the community. The SiteCrafting group volunteered to help organize toys, clothes, household goods, and more.

There are many opportunities to volunteer throughout the year, learn how you can help the YWCA Pierce County.

The Rescue Mission

The Rescue Mission provides help and hope to men, women and children who need shelter, food and assistance. The SiteCrafting team helped prep, cook and serve food at the shelter. It was a great experience and we are so grateful to help those in our community.
