Tacoma Art Museum is a national model for regional, mid-sized museums. The downtown facility was designed by Antoine Predock and was inspired by the nearby light, water, and industrial structures. The newest wing of the museum, designed by Olson Kundig Architects, opened in November 2014 and houses the Haub Family Galleries.
TAM needed a website that would be as modern an “wow” as their new museum wing. The TAM staff worked closely with the SiteCrafting design team, making sure each component fit into the bigger vision for the site. Not only is the new design responsive, with a stunning display on any device, but it also integrates parallax scrolling, a design technique wherein background and foreground images move at different speeds, making for a more interesting visual experience.
